Our team

Claire – co-founder & host

Claire, French-Portuguese, fell in love with Portugal in 2011 while studying in Lisbon.

After working in advertising agencies and consulting firms during 10 years in Paris and Lyon, the idea of starting her project and bringing her family closer to the ocean was born. She then decided to leave her job as Digital Sales Manager to renovate a 19th century house at the heart of the family orchard.

The idea: to create a stress-free, creative and flexible place to live and work for freelancers, remote workers and companies.

She is in charge of the day-to-day organization at POMAR : from welcoming guests to organizing all the social life of the place!

Claire can take you paddling on the Ria Formosa or, if you are a morning person, your can follow her in one of her sport sessions. She will be happy to share with you all of her good addresses with the sole objective: to make you know HER Algarve.

Hadrien – co-founder & host

Hadrien, co-founder of Pomar, accompanies Claire in the vision as well as the implementation of the POMAR Coliving, Coworking project.

He is in charge of the entire digital showcase of the project and future WORK x BIKE offers. Hadrien divides his time between Lyon and the Algarve.

If you can’t find him on the cowork bench, between two meetings, he’s running or cycling !

It all started with this ruin in the heart of the 15 acres family apricot farm.

After having been a religious house in the 19th century, this house was abandoned during the 20th century. Becoming a ruin over the years, it has never collapsed.

This house has always been under our eyes, watching over the orchards andover the years carob trees and then apricot trees bloom and bear fruit.

In 2020, we were able to embark on the reflection of our life project, a new shared challenge: to leave Lyon to bring this place to life.

The idea had been germinating for a long time in our minds, long before the Covid crisis… to change lives and build a meaningful project.

Why POMAR ?

Pomar in Portuguese means ORCHARD.

The orchard is a land, a place where fruit trees live. The orchard is a land, a place where fruit trees live. An orchard is a place full of richness that gives trees the opportunity to live and grow.

The orchard is an eternal restart, the flowers grows there, then the fruits.

This place is your orchard, a place to relax, inspire yourself and allow yourself to boost your creativity and productivity.

Our villages

Our two coliving spaces are located in the Algarve in the southern region of Portugal : one in Estoi, set in the peaceful countryside with stunning views, and the other in the city center of Olhão, right in the heart of local life.

Olhão, a charming fishing port, thrives to the rhythm of the tides. Here, you’ll find the simple pleasures of life: 300 days of sunshine, a cobalt-blue horizon, and untouched natural beauty. What makes Olhão special? Its unique neo-Moorish architecture, the stunning Ria Formosa Natural Park—one of Portugal’s seven wonders—its string of sun-kissed islands, and a vibrant daily market offering the freshest seafood and local delicacies.

Estoi is a charming, authentic village in the Algarve, known for its peaceful countryside atmosphere and rich history. Highlights include the beautiful Palácio de Estoi and the Roman Ruins of Milreu. However, its quiet nature and limited amenities may not suit those looking for lively activities or easy access to public transport Estoi is ideal for a calm, local experience, yet still close to Faro and Olhão.
