At POMAR Coliving, every guest brings their unique story, enriching our vibrant community. To kick off our new blog series “Coliver Interviews,” we sat down with Maria, a dynamic public speaking coach who recently chose POMAR na Serra to escape the chilly Nordic winter. Discover her journey, favorite activities, and why POMAR was the ideal spot for her remote work and lifestyle.
Hey everyone, my name is Maria. I am half Colombian, half Chinese, grew up in Vancouver, Canada, and I’m a public speaking coach. So I help non-native English speakers communicate more effectively and deliver awesome work presentations. So I started working for myself only six months ago. And before this, I was working with the United Nations in communications consulting and also in TV. But I realized I wanted a more personal touch with what I’m doing, and I finally get to do that now.
So all my friends know I’m notoriously cold and my partner and I are based in Sweden so we wanted to escape the Nordic winter. That’s why we came to Pomar and we chose Pomar because of its awesome countryside location and the community feel. So we have family dinners every week, we have things like crossfit and orange picking as well as ice baths on weekends and my favorite activity is to watch sunsets from the rooftop.
My next location, I’m going back to Sweden, but this summer I will be in Greece. If you want to follow my journey and support me, please check me out on LinkedIn and also at publicspeakingwithmaria.com. Thanks.
Maria’s experience beautifully highlights the essence of the POMAR community: a blend of productivity, relaxation, and genuine connections. Her journey from a structured career to independent coaching resonates with many digital nomads seeking meaningful work and balanced lifestyles. Whether you’re looking to enhance your skills, meet inspiring individuals, or simply watch breathtaking sunsets, POMAR is a community worth exploring.
Stay tuned for more inspiring interviews in our new “Coliver Interviews” series!
